Coffee Camps

During our time in San Ramon, we’ll be working at the new Coffee Camps. These day camps have been established to provide a safe, educational and play environment for children of coffee workers. Often, during the harvest season, young children are left home for the day while the rest of the family is our cutting coffee. The Coffee Camps, created with funding from Green Mountain Coffee, are community based and meet an identified need that arose during conversations with community members. As of now there are two camps starting up; . One in Olcalca, and one at Finca Silvestre. All pictures were taken this past July (2010), before the camps were operational. (Due to oddness in wordpress I’ve had to create 2 separate pages for the image galleries)
